Hike the B&B Burn near Santiam Pass
July 17, 2010
Join the High Desert Chapter of the NPSO for a moderate hike through the B&B burn. On the hike we will see a variety of habitats, aspects, and burn intensities, 2 sizable lakes and lush meadows, a variety of birds and other wildlife, plus magnificent vistas of the 3 Sisters and 3 Fingered Jack. Paul Edgerdon will discuss the process of succession. Late July there is usually an impressive display of both survivors and new plants in full bloom, such as lilies, beargrass, lupine, penstemons, gilias, and so on. Since the hike is within the Mt. Jefferson Wilderness, we will be limited to 12 people in our group. RSVP is a must. The trip starts at the trail head.
