Greetings!
Thanks for checking in on us. We are the High Desert Chapter of the Native Plant Society of Oregon (NPSO) exploring a loosely defined geographic area featuring Central Oregon. We consider Central Oregon to be Crook, Deschutes, and Jefferson Counties but are willing to extend out to adjacent areas as requested or as interest is expressed. Our goal is to explore beautiful natural places with knowledgeable people who can provide a deeper understanding of the dynamics that have shaped the environment. We are not a political organization. Mostly we are interested in getting into the great outdoors, breathing fresh air, and admiring nature’s beauty. During the winter months, when we are forced indoors, we hold a series of talks of interesting ecology or plant related topics. Please join us for any of these events. While we’d like you to join NPSO, you do not need to be a member to enjoy our activities. Review the calendar of events to the right (still working on this) or the list of events for activities that are interesting to you. We look forward to seeing you soon.
If you have suggestions or would like to host an event, please call Eileen 541.350.7436 or email her at Eileen@dappledearth.com. We look forward to seeing you in the High Desert!
